The Problem

Most small businesses are working harder than necessary

Over time, most small businesses accumulate software, workarounds, and manual processes that slowly make operations more complicated than they need to be. This is your operational debt, and it becomes a burden if it's not addressed.

Tasks take longer. Information is scattered. Simple changes feel harder than they should. And valuable time is lost to administrative work instead of client and revenue-focused activity.

How much is your time worth?

The Small Business Efficiency Checkup brings large-company knowledge and experience to your business in a practical, understandable way.

What the Checkup is

A practical review of how your business actually operates

This is not generic IT support or a technical audit.

It is a business-focused efficiency review designed to identify friction, unnecessary complexity, and opportunities to simplify how your business runs.

Every tier starts with the same thorough review. What differs is how much of the work I do for you afterward.

Areas we evaluate:

  • Daily workflows and recurring tasks
  • Software and tools currently in use
  • Manual processes that could be automated
  • Gaps or duplication between systems
  • Organizational and process inefficiencies
  • Unnecessary software costs or complexity
  • Opportunities to simplify and streamline
Note: The focus is always practical improvement, not technical theory.
What every checkup includes

Clear direction and a practical improvement plan

At the conclusion of the checkup, every client receives:

  • Identified inefficiencies and friction points
  • Automation and simplification opportunities
  • Software and system recommendations (if needed)
  • Cost-reduction opportunities
  • Prioritized action plan
  • Straightforward, plain-English written report
  • 30-minute follow-up call to walk through the findings

You leave knowing exactly what to change to make your business run more smoothly.

Common questions

Everything you want to know before getting started

How long does the checkup take?
The review itself typically takes one to two weeks from start to finish - including the initial intake, my analysis of your systems and workflows, and the follow-up call to walk through the findings. It does not require a large time commitment on your part.
What if the checkup doesn't find much?
That's a good outcome - it means your business is running well. You'll still leave with a clear, documented picture of your systems and a prioritized list of any improvements worth making, even if the list is short. In 30 years of systems work, I've never completed a review that found nothing worth improving.
What does implementation actually involve?
It depends on what the checkup finds, but common examples include: setting up automation between tools you already use, migrating data from a clunky system to a better one, consolidating duplicate software, configuring a CRM or project management tool, and documenting recurring processes so they run without you. Everything is practical and specific to your business - nothing generic.
Can I start with Essentials and upgrade later?
Yes - and it's designed to work that way. Some clients prefer to see the plan first before deciding how much help they want with implementation. If you start with Checkup Essentials and decide to upgrade, your $750 fee applies toward the Guided or Full-Service price. You never pay for the checkup twice.
How does the $750 credit work exactly?
If you purchase Checkup Essentials ($750) and later decide to move to Guided Implementation ($1,500) or Full-Service Implementation ($2,500+), your $750 is credited toward the higher-tier price. For Guided, that means you'd pay the remaining $750. For Full-Service, it reduces the total accordingly. The credit applies as long as implementation begins within 90 days of the checkup.
Do I need to be technical?
No. Plain-English explanation is a core part of every deliverable. You don't need to understand how the technology works - you need to understand what it does for your business and why it matters. That's what I make sure you leave with.
What if I only want to address one or two specific problems?
The checkup is a full review, not a targeted fix - that's intentional. In my experience, the problems that feel most obvious are often symptoms of something else, and addressing one area in isolation can miss the real cause. The value of the checkup is the complete picture. That said, the improvement plan is prioritized, so if your situation calls for focusing on a specific area first, that will be reflected in the recommendations.
What's the process from start to finish?
  1. Free consultation - We briefly discuss your business and confirm it's a good fit.
  2. Intake - You complete a short questionnaire and give me access to review your tools and workflows.
  3. Review - I analyze your systems, identify inefficiencies, and build the improvement plan.
  4. Delivery - You receive the written report and we walk through it together on a 30-minute call.
  5. Implementation (optional) - If you choose a Guided or Full-Service tier, implementation begins after the plan is delivered.
