Hands-On Workshop · Concord, CA

Your AI, On Your Computer

Bring your laptop. Leave with it set up and working.

Most AI advice stops at "try ChatGPT." This is the next part: the app installed on your own machine, loaded with your business, and pointed at your own files. You do the typing. I walk the room.

The Point

What you leave with

Not notes. Not a handout you'll mean to read. A working setup on the laptop you carried in, that does something useful before you leave the room.

The desktop app installed and signed in Claude or ChatGPT, your choice, on your own machine. Not a browser tab you lose track of.
Your business loaded into it, permanently What you do, who your clients are, how you write. Set up once so you stop re-explaining yourself every session.
Ground rules that stop it flattering you The instruction set that turns off the yes-man behavior. This is the single biggest quality change most people ever make.
Connected to a folder of your own files The part you cannot do from a browser tab, and the reason this workshop exists.
One real document of yours, processed start to finish Bring something you actually have to deal with. We do it in the room, not in theory.
A printed step sheet for your exact setup Mac or Windows, Claude or ChatGPT. The right one for the machine you brought, so you can redo any of it later.

What you need to bring

This is a working session, not a talk. If any of the following isn't true on the day, you'll be watching instead of doing, and that's a waste of your money.

  • A laptop you can install software on. Mac or Windows both fine. If it's a work laptop managed by an employer's IT department, installs are often blocked - check before you register.
  • Your laptop password, and your Apple ID or Microsoft account password. Installing asks for them. Nobody remembers them under pressure. Write them down beforehand.
  • A paid Claude or ChatGPT account. About $20 a month. The file-and-context features this workshop sets up are not on the free tiers, so a free account means you'll leave without the main thing you came for. Get it before September 15 - signing up on the room's wifi eats time you paid for.
  • One real document or folder from your business. A contract, a policy, a pile of client notes, a messy spreadsheet. Something you'd genuinely like handled.
  • A charged battery. There are not ten outlets.

To be plain about the cost: the seat is $79, and the subscription is roughly $20/month on top of that, paid to Claude or OpenAI, not to me. I'd rather you know that now than find out in the room.

Three Hours

How the morning runs

Ten people, one room, one helper on the floor besides me. Small on purpose - installs go wrong, and at thirty people that stops being fixable.

1
Get it installed

Everyone downloads and signs in. We sort out the machines that fight back before anyone falls behind. Budget the first half hour for this and it stops being stressful.

2
Teach it your business

We build your context document together, from your own website and your own writing, and save it where the app will use it every time. This part is identical whichever app you chose.

3
Set the ground rules

The working-relationship instructions that stop it agreeing with everything you say. You'll notice the difference in the next answer it gives you.

4
Point it at your files

The step that separates a desktop app from a browser tab. Claude and ChatGPT do this differently, so we split the room here and each side gets its own step sheet.

5
Do one real piece of your work

The document you brought. Start to finish, on your machine, with me looking over your shoulder if you want. Then we talk about what you'd point it at next.

Fit

Who this is for

You've used AI a bit and stalled You've typed things into ChatGPT, got answers that were fine but generic, and quietly stopped bothering.
You run a small professional practice Bookkeeping, insurance, real estate, consulting, law, property management. One to five people. Drowning in documents and admin.
You'd rather do it than watch it You learn by having your own hands on the keys, and you'll actually bring the laptop.
Not for you if you want a talk If you want the concepts without the setup, the free seminar covers that and costs nothing. Ask me about it instead.
Before You Pay

Cancellations and refunds

Ten seats means an empty one is hard to fill late, so the window here is real rather than decorative. The whole policy is below, in plain terms, before you spend anything.

  • Cancel by Tuesday, September 8 and you get a full refund. No form and no reason needed. Email me and it's done.
  • Send someone else instead, any time. If you can't make it but somebody in your business can, tell me their name and the seat is theirs. That works right up to the morning of the workshop.
  • After September 8 the seat isn't refundable. With only ten of them there isn't time to fill an empty one that late. You can still send a substitute, and if there's another workshop scheduled I'll move your seat to it.
  • Turning up without a paid Claude or ChatGPT account isn't grounds for a refund. It's listed above in what to bring. You can upgrade in the room in about five minutes if you have a card on you, but it comes out of your own session time.
  • If I cancel, you get all of it back. Straight away, and you'll hear from me the moment I know.

Questions about any of this before you book? Email [email protected] or call 925-705-5083.
